Your Garage Is Begging For A Glow-Up

Your garage doesn't have to look like a showroom, but let's be honest: most garages are used as a graveyard where random useless things get left to die. With Regina's harsh winters, it's no surprise that a garage is one of the most single important items on buyer's wish lists, yet 25% of homeowners with garages can't even park in them because it's overstuffed with clutter. Here are a few tips on how to improve your space just by purging and creating flow with a few systems.

Whether you want to better utilize your garage for yourself or setting the stage to sell, purging your garage for items that you truly need will make it feel more functional. It signals pride of ownership, subconsciously connects that you have a well-cared for property, and showcases storage potential and functionality. The best way to do this is to create zones (seasonal, tools, sports gear, and yard). Using clear bins will help you find things quicker and create some cohesiveness. Getting things up off the floor significantly helps you find what you need quickly. Wall-mount storage units, corner work benches, or mezzanine storage above the overhead doors will make your garage feel so much bigger! One thing to consider cost-sharing big tools or renting them for that odd job. And you would be surprised how much cash is lying around your garage. Make a plan on what you are selling online or a garage sale. There could be thousands of dollars just collecting dust!

Plan a weekend or two to tackle the big job and determine a plan of what to do with the things you are purging:
