Coopertown Is Finally Breaking Ground
If you’ve been waiting for some exciting news about Regina’s future growth, here it is. Coopertown is finally moving forward! This massive new neighbourhood, developed by Dream Developments, is set to transform Regina’s northwest corner and make a big impact on our city for decades to come.
Here’s what you need to know:
Size & Scope: Coopertown will cover 1,800+ acres. That’s larger than the entire city of Moose Jaw, and will eventually become home to more than 36,000 residents.
A Long Time Coming: The project sat dormant for years due to a dispute about funding a new $60 million lift station to handle future growth. Now, the city has committed to fronting the cost, with Dream Developments paying it back through levies (plus interest) in the coming years.
Breaking Ground: Construction kicks off this Friday to begin building the key infrastructure, with builders expected to start home construction by fall 2026. The first phase includes 220 residential lots.
