2025 School Supply Drive For Salvation Army Backpack Program
I know I’m a huge geek, but one of my favorite things as a kid growing up was to go back-to-school shopping. But for a lot of families out there, this is particularly a financially stressful time. Aside from food inflation for those school lunches and finding back-to-school clothes, parents are looking to spend $300-$500 per child when you factor in backpacks, water bottles, lunch kits, and shoes. It’s also tough on those teachers who use money out of their own pockets to supplement the shortfall. So let’s see where we can help! Many families need help this year in our city, and I know that you probably have a tonne of supplies lying around that could be put to good use!
Join my family as we host another School Supply Drive for the Backpack Program at Salvation Army. I’ll be picking up your new and gently-used supplies until August 13th, 2025.
What we are looking for:
backpacks (no holes, stains, zippers that don’t work)
lunch kits
pens and pencils that have not yet been used
pencil and wax crayons that have a lot of life left in them
rulers
pencil cases - in good condition
pencil sharpeners
unused erasers
unused glue sticks and white glue bottles
watercolor sets
scissors
loose leaf and graph paper packages (unopened)
duo-tangs
binders
calculators
markers (still in boxes)
headphones that can plug into laptop
flashcards (subtraction, multiplication, division, addition)
Hilroy notebooks (unused)
sketchbooks
sticky notepads
So reach out if you live in the Regina area and have any spare supplies you can donate to this amazing venture!
Don’t have any supplies but would still like to help out? You can donate funds directly to The Salvation Army Backpack Program. A $40 donation can get one kiddo a backpack and supplies.
